INTENT OF IMPLEMENTATION OF COUNTY INDIGENT HEALTH CARE PROGRAM (AS MANDATED UNDER: SENATE BILL 1 – INDIGENT HEALTH CARE AND TREATMENT ACR).
Effective September 1, 2020, Falls County will be providing basic healthcare, which is deemed medically necessary to eligible residents as specifically, provided by the County Indigent Health Care Program.
The FALLS COUNTY INDIGENT HEALTH CARE PROGRAM will follow the established eligibility and service standards, application, documentation, and verification procedures contained in the County Indigent Health Care Handbook provided by The Department of State Health Services. Applications will be available upon request at the following location:

Assistance will be available upon request for completing applications. Applicants are responsible for providing information, for correctly filling out the application, and for providing all requested verification. The county will notify the applicant in writing within 14 days from the receipt of completed applications of applicant’s eligibility. Applicant has the right to appeal eligibility decisions within 90 days from the receipt of notice of eligibility.
Falls County is liable for 8% of its General Revenue Tax Levy and 10% of all expenditures exceeding the amount as long as State matching funds are available. In the event that Falls County spends 8% of its G.R.T.L. and State Funds are exhausted, the program will be discontinued until such time further State funds are available or September 1 of the next fiscal year.
